Human Resources Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Human Resource policies, strategies and programmes aimed at employing, retaining and developing a competent and committed workforce, thereby creating an employee oriented and high-performance culture that emphasizes enterprise, productivity and goal attainment.

The HRM acts as an internal consultant by providing counsel and advice on human resource matters and organizational effectiveness.

The Manager, HR acts as an internal consultant by providing counsel and advice on human resource matters and organizational effectiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement the approved Human Resources policies, strategies, programmes and related budget to promote a healthy, proactive and productive work environment.
Advise the General Manager on controls to mitigate risks associated with any significant HR challenges/problems that may jeopardize the achievement of corporate goals.
Act as an internal consultant on industrial relations issues, to include grievance processing, disciplinary action and separation.
Monitor the organization's culture to ensure it reflects the core values; supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee engagement.
Coordinate the recruitment, selection and on boarding programmes ensuring consistency, transparency and flexibility in the employment of best fits.
Oversee the company’s salary and benefits administration, performance management system, training and staff development programme.
Manage the staff welfare programme, to include the administration of the company’s Group Health and Life Insurance Plans and Pension/ Superannuation Fund.
Partner with the Manager, Facilities and Operations to implement the company’s occupational, safety and health programmes (OSH). Monitor the tracking of OSHA-required data to ensure compliance.
Prepare HR metrics and statistical reports concerning recruitment and selection, performance appraisals, attendance analysis, attrition, staff training and development.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Master’s in Human Resource Management/Business Administration/ or equivalent
At least three years’ experience in human resource management at the managerial level
Professional Certification would be an asset

SPECIFIC SKILL/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Ability to analyze organizational behaviour
Working knowledge of strategic planning and execution
Strong leadership & managerial skills
Working knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management
High degree of confidentiality and professionalism
High emotional intelligence level
Sound knowledge of Labour laws, IR practices, human resources policies and practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiations and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRIS)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The Human Resource Administrator is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of procedures, plans and programmes for the efficient and effective administration of all Human Resource matters in order to achieve the human resource objectives of the organization.
