Carlong has revised the First Steps in Science (FSIS) and Carlong Primary Social Studies (CPSS) series to supply the demand for these publications in time for the back-to-school season. 

During April and May, Carlong Publishers hosted PEP and CSEC workshops for teachers across three parishes to provide them with additional material and techniques needed to prepare students for the highly anticipated Primary Exit Profile (PEP) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.

The start of the 2018/2019 school year was met with much trepidation by students at the primary level, as well as their parents, with the introduction of the Primary Exit Profile (PEP), a placement examination for students in grade 6 that has replaced the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT). Students, parents and teachers had previously expressed the need for more information from the Ministry of the Education, Youth and Information (MOEYI) on the nature and implementation of the exam, and the effects of same on students’ performance and placement in secondary institutions. 

Mind Builders – Test Your Thinking Skills is the updated version of the renowned and highly acclaimed Carlong Further Multiple Choice Assessment Tests – Mental Ability. This new and improved text includes seven (7) test papers of 100 items each, which are designed to stimulate, improve and test the mental ability of children ages 10 to 12 years at the primary level.

New to the Adventures series for primary school students, Adventures: Primary Mathematics – Book 2 comprehensively covers the mathematics concepts taught in Grade 2 / Standard 2 to students ages 7 to 8 years throughout the Caribbean. With the use of the three monkey characters, Max, Mindy and Mikey, children embark on a fun-filled learning adventure that will increase their knowledge and improve their critical thinking skills in preparation for the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) in Grades 4 to 6.  

Adventures: Primary Mathematics – Book 1 is the second book in Carlong’s Adventures series to hit bookstores and bookshelves. As the sister text of Adventures: Primary Language Arts – Book 1, it provides extensive coverage of the Mathematics concepts taught in Grade 1 (students ages 6 to 7) throughout the Caribbean.
