Sales & Distribution

he service centre of the entire Carlong operation is the Sales, Distribution and Accounting Department, located at 33 Second Street, Newport West, Kingston, Jamaica.

The team led by Manager, Lorna Allen, comprises Customer Service, Order Fulfilment, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Financial Management, Budgeting and Accounting, and Administrative professionals.

All Carlong publications, together with the hundreds of titles from Longman, Ladybird and Penguin are stocked in adequate supply, on an ongoing basis in the Carlong warehouse. The warehouse now boasts a showroom where our customers are welcome to view our wide range of titles and conduct business with ease, comfort and the enjoyment of the Carlong service and hospitality.

While Booksellers are our primary customers, special circumstances may dictate that we supply stock directly from our warehouse to Ministries of Education, libraries and other institutions. We also support our marketing programme with a limited supply of books for immediate availability at special marketing events and free distribution of inspection and review copies to a select target group.

To guide our customers' selection of books, we produce and distribute periodically, an up-to-date Carlong Stock List complete with prices.

Our customers receive the best service with generous trading terms and conditions of sale and service, which are clearly outlined and available for perusal. Our customer support services include distribution of catalogues, inspection copies, promotional material, new book updates, forthcoming book news, direct visits, joint-venture marketing initiatives, training and ongoing business development advice.

Effective partnership can only be achieved through ongoing dialogue and communication. Carlong is always open to receive, examine and act on our customers' suggestions for improved products and services.
