Focused on informing, responding, gathering information, and ultimately, satisfying our customers, Carlong's marketing programme is an exciting network of:

  • Production and distribution of catalogues and other promotional material
  • Distribution of inspection and review copies to select target groups
  • Teacher training and marketing workshops and seminars
  • Book displays, participation in book fairs and other book promotion and sale activities

  • On-going dialogue and interaction with Ministries of Education and other key target groups

As partners in the education process, Carlong is committed to supporting literacy and the reading habit. To support this commitment, our latest and exciting marketing initiative is the establishment of a Reading Resource Collection in the marketing showroom at Carlong's Ruthven Road, Kingston offices. The Reading Resource Collection offers a wide selection of publications, including graded readers from the Carlong, Longman, Penguin Ladybird and other Pearson imprints to enhance the development of literacy skills from early childhood through to secondary levels.

Led by Marketing Manager, Glynis Salmon, the Jamaica team of three Marketing Representatives and two Administrative Assistant is complemented by Representatives in the islands of St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Barbados, St. Maarten, St. Kitts/Nevis, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago to ensure that Carlong's publications are kept in the forefront of the market.

Our Representatives are equipped with the knowledge, the experience, the technology and the care to satisfy our customers' needs and provide valuable marketing information to guide the work of other departments.
